Detection and Quantification of Recombinant Proteins
MicroMol's BioReference Extracts and Kits are designed for the detection of recombinant proteins and residual proteins from the production strain.
With the GST and HIS kits you can detect and quantify the protein your expression system should produce. The kits contain a reference protein of defined quantity and a ready-to-use anti-tag antibody or conjugate. Tested for ELISA and Western blotting.
The BL21 (DE3), HB101 and W3110 kits are designed for the detection of residual proteins of the expression strain. This is very important for the validation of purification methods. The relevant document rules for pharmaceutical preparations urge the producer of a recombinant protein to confirm that the purification process is able to remove all impurities from the preparation. Our kits are designed to do this by Western blotting or ELISA. They contain raw extracts of the most common production strains and an adequate antiserum that was prepared against whole cell extracts.

For accurate size determination of unknown proteins please use our Mark-It Recombinant or Mark-It West products. Our recombinant marker proteins run exactly as the theory predicts, whereas traditional marker proteins often deviate from the linear relationship between Rf and log (molecular weight).
