Our Cryo Vials are a special ready-to-use product for preparing frozen stocks from different microorganisms, even DMSO-sensitive organisms. The stocks are protected by a special cryo medium during freezing.
The Cryo Vials are filled with approx. 25 glass beads. They are etched and pretreated in a special process to ensure maximum adhesion of microorganisms to the bead surface. The beads are covered by a cryo-protectant solution.
The user adds 0.5 ml of a liquid culture or a suspension from a surface culture. The mixture is agitated and the supernatant removed. The beads can easily be removed with sterile forceps or an inoculation wire through the central bore of the bead.
The Cryo Vials are supplied in two variants: one adapted for bacteria, one adapted for fungi and yeast. |
